Where It Started
The domain WinTheLottery.com belongs to our father. His story is the reason this site exists.
He grew up in Baldwin, Long Island, where he walked into Baldwin Billiards at age 12 and never looked back. He started as the coffee boy, earned table time by vacuuming, learned to fix cue tips, and eventually ran the cash register for the owner, Ralph, who became a father figure and later adopted him. By 16 he was a local legend in straight pool and 3-rail billiards, spotting opponents 45 balls in a 50-point game and still winning.
After getting his GED, he studied culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. He became a chef, then pivoted to the wood flooring business after learning the trade from mentors named Irving and Santos. He built his own flooring company from a used sanding machine and a Chevy Malibu, growing it into a successful operation across New York and Long Island through his twenties and thirties.
The thread through every chapter of his life was craftsmanship. Whether it was lining up a shot, plating a dish, or sanding a floor to perfection, the standard was always the same: do it right or don't do it at all. That's the standard we hold this site to.
